But after taking his first Physics course with Prof. Tom Carroll, Jon was instantly hooked on pure physics.

Jon attends his first Physics conference at the Division of Atomic, Molecular, and Optical Physics in Atlanta, which sparks his pursuit for a PhD.

After his junior year, Jon completes research in Paris.
In preparation for grad school and to bolster research experience, Jon was accepted into the competitive Gravitational Wave Physics REU through the University of Florida.

It is the start of lifelong friendships and a professional network. They travel to Italy for 2 weeks to play international competition.

After 澳门威尼斯人官方app下载, Jon attends University of Pennsylvania where his research focus was in the field of experimental cosmology. He does research in Atacama Desert, Chile.

Jon develops sensors used for navigation in the space, defense, and aviation markets.
Now in Virginia, Jon’s current work will assist in landing unmanned payloads on the lunar surface in 2024-2025.

Assistant Professor of Physics Kassie Martin-Wells has been awarded a Research Initiation Grant from NASA, which will support work with students in creating a crater classification tool, a significant step forward in planetary science study.

William Heefner Chair and Professor of Music Holly Hubbs will be joined by Belgian Saxophonist Andrea Van Acker (Koninglijk Academie Wilrijk and Merksem, Belgium) and Pianist Kristofer Sanchack (Alabama State University) for this afternoon of music for saxophones and piano by Belgian and American women composers. The program will feature music by composers Kathryne E. Thompson, Svetlana Kazykina, Jacqueline Fonteyn, and others. Free, no ticket needed.
